2008 Youth Leaders Gathering - Nanaimo, BC

On Saturday, September 6, 2008, Bishop Richard Gagnon and the Diocesan Youth Team welcomed parish representatives from all over the Diocese for a gathering at Trinity Catholic Church. The purpose of the event was to reintroduce participants to the Diocesan Youth Team and their role in the formation of youth ministry on Vancouver Island. Darryl Wilson gave a presentation on Comprehensive Youth Ministry as a tool for youth ministry development in parishes and Danny Brock gave an inspiring talk on reaching out and empowering youth. The event was well attended and parishes have now been invited to request their own Comprehensive Youth Ministry presentations for parish council.

2008 Diocesan Youth Conference - Victoria, BC

The 2008 Diocesan Youth Conference at St. Andrew's High School was an overwhelming success. Over 200 youth from across the Diocese of Victoria and even the Diocese of Prince George came together for the annual conference which featured Fr. Stan Fortuna as the guest speaker. Fr. Stan made a significant impression on the youth who are already getting ready for the next DYC in May 2009!
